Our Afternoon Class
Our afternoon class is intended for children ages 4.5-6 years old. Children must be 4.5 years of age by December 31st or otherwise have approval from The Farmhouse School.
In the afternoon class, we continue to support our students as they gain confidence and make connections through child-centered play-based activities. We continue to build off of important academic concepts through play, with a focus on incorporating these concepts into long-term, collaborative, child-led project work. As our students become more confident in their leadership skills and continue to grow into themselves socially and emotionally, we find that they become highly capable of leading their own play and constructing their own learning. Group-times often become more child-led and the curriculum becomes almost entirely generated based on the children’s input. In their last year at Farmhouse School, students tend to build strong ties to their environment, peers, teachers and larger community as they continue to cultivate these relationships.
