The Farmhouse School is a unique preschool learning environment (located in Gilman Village, Issaquah) where children are immersed in a discovery based, Reggio Emilia influenced curriculum. Our education philosophy is centered on empowering children; encouraging them to develop their social, cognitive, emotional, and physical selves through exploration and play. Our goal at The Farmhouse School is to help each child develop lifelong joy in learning, belief in themselves, self-responsibility, drive to follow their passions, and desire to contribute to their community.
For the foreseeable future we will operate our preschool outdoors. Studies show that fresh air and outdoor spaces provide an extra layer of protection against Covid-19. For this reason, we will take advantage of our beautiful playground and all the parks and open spaces Issaquah has to offer!
We will set up our outdoor preschool to mimic our indoor space so that we may continue to offer the same rich learning materials and opportunities that we are able to offer indoors.
Our playground will be equipped with multiple canopies to provide some shade and reprieve from the rain. We will have spaces for our daily group time, reading stories, eating snack, making art, working in our journals, exploring sensory materials, building and constructing and experimenting with provocations.
The children will have access to our bathrooms for handwashing and using the potty.
If the warrants the need move inside, we will do so.
